My interests lie in the realm of cross-disciplinary research, specifically focusing on comparative politics, historical analysis, and international relations theory. I am particularly intrigued by global politics, international organizations, as well as the foreign policies and domestic politics of Nordic states, as well as Nordic cooperation.

Dr Sam Louden-Cooke
Dr Sam Louden-Cooke is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations, Politics and Political Geography. She has over 10 years experience working in UK Higher Education and has a passion for helping students reach that ‘aha’ moment. Sam has taught on a wide range of topics including International Relations Theories, Security Studies, Political Thought, Human Rights, the Geopolitics of Climate Change, and Sustainable Futures. Her research explores secularism, gender equality and family law in early twentieth century Egypt and Iran; non-Western theories of international relations; decolonising the classroom; and AI in Higher Education. In addition to this, Sam is a qualified ESL teacher and has extensive experience teaching individual and group sessions for individuals at all levels, seeking to improve their language skills for personal, business, and academic purposes. She is also experienced in proof-reading and copy-editing . Alongside her pedagogical career, Sam has a lot of experience of working in local politics (UK setting) and tries to incorporate her experiences, where appropriate, into her teaching.
